DigiCare supports Disability Awareness Day 2025 in Warrington

On Sunday 13th July, DigiCare was proud to support the 34th annual Disability Awareness Day (DAD) in Warrington. We joined hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of attendees united by one powerful message:

“It’s not about what we can’t do. It’s about what we can do.”

What is Disability Awareness Day (DAD)?

Held in Walton Hall Gardens, Disability Awareness Day (DAD) is Europe’s largest non-profit disability exhibition. It's led by the Warrington Disability Partnership and run entirely by volunteers. It celebrates ability, promotes inclusion, and showcases services that enable independent living across the UK.

As well as exhibiting independent living products from equipment suppliers, employers and holiday providers, the free yearly event also has lots of fun activities for guests, too. Some activities include a Silent Disco, arts and crafts marquees, and a sports zone with SCUBA diving.

It's a great day out for anyone passionate about disability inclusion in Warrington and beyond.

What brought DigiCare to Disability Awareness Day (DAD)?

DigiCare uses technology to make independent living more achievable for disabled people, their families and carers. We're passionate about disability inclusion, so jumped at the chance to get involved with Disability Awareness Day (DAD).

We were proud to support an event that shares our belief in focusing on ability instead of limitation. Its celebration of independence, innovation, and inclusion mirrors the work we do every day in helping people across Warrington live more freely and fully.

At the event, we spoke with individuals, families, carers, and community groups about how better connectivity and assistive tech can support inclusion and independence at home.

Our ambition for Warrington

Right now in Warrington, DigiCare is piloting a new project to support independent living through technology. We're starting with 300 connected homes. By combining high-speed full fibre broadband with smart sensors and digital care tools, the aim is to make everyday life safer, more supported, and more connected for disabled people and their families.

It’s a truly local effort, bringing together the council, NHS, community groups, and tech partners to create practical solutions that put people first. Just like Disability Awareness Day (DAD), this project is all about ability, not limitation. We're proving that, with the right support and the right tools, independent living is possible for more people, in more ways than ever before.
